My Heartfelt Prayer

Dear Father God, I come to you with a dear friend weighing heavily on my mind this morning.

You know what he needs and you can meet his need. With you, Lord, EVERYTHING is possible. You made the Heavens and the Earth. Why wouldn’t you be able to clear up some angst about a new job? Why wouldn’t you be able to solve money issues? Or even perhaps marital issues? Feelings of inadequacy or not fitting in?

God, you know the friend I am talking about. My heart cries out to you for him. Rob and I love him as though he was our brother… and his family as well. They are always in our hearts, and we see them as such a bright spot in our lives.

Soften his heart, Lord God, that your Spirit may speak to him. Take ME out of the equation. Don’t let him see ME, but YOU when we talk. Give me the words to say, point me in the right direction.

Maybe I will plant the seed, maybe water, maybe harvest. I have no clue. But use me, dear Abba-God to your will exclusively.

Why is my heart coming out of my chest this morning? Why do I feel like crying? What is he looking for?

Lord, his wife talked to me a few days ago and stopped the conversation short. I was so uncomfortable, and so was she. Please let her know I am here to talk with… and I’ll be better this time. I will encourage her to go on, and I will tell her your promises for her. That she needen’t worry about things. The flowers of the field are clothed and majesty, and how much more to you care about HER than these flowers that are here today and gone tomorrow?

Lord, love them. Bless and keep them. Make your face to shine upon them. And hold them in the palm of your hand. I love these friends of ours, but you love them more.

Meet their need this day, Heavenly Father.

Amen.
