Prayers Answered
Better yet, Prayers Answered that We Didn’t Yet Ask For
I had no idea what to expect when *Pastor Cliff asked me nearly two weeks ago, if Rob and I would join him and his wife for dinner tonight at the Olive Garden.
He’s a customer of mine at Work, and a very nice fellow. We have a mutual friend who’s been on all of our cases for over a year to meet each other and we finally did it. It was such a lovely night.
Here’s all I have to say about the meeting: God is amazing, answering prayers before we even knew to pray for the thing that was in so deep in our hearts. God is faithful to His children. And even though Pastor Cliff isn’t of the same denomination as us, we all still love God and look to Him for guidance and encouragement, and the important stuff like saving us from sin and death,
I was so incredibly blessed by our meeting tonight, and Rob and I have lots to pray about and decisions to make, etc. We could use your prayers too! God knows what it’s about!

good morning, SO glad you have another set of people to visit with, and pray with, and to extend care towards you both. Let God work through this and all the new friendships to bring MORE into your lives.

Olive Garden is one of the most sprit filled places you can eat. The way they keep refilling my soup and salad bowl, virtually out of thin air, is almost a miraculous as Jesus’ water into wine episode.
And don’t get me started on the bread sticks!

may I wonder aloud, when people stopped eating ( entertaining) in their own homes? we did so much of this in our younger days, and it is so much more comfortable, intimate, hospitable.
all that said, I do like to eat out ONCE in a while when the budget permits.

David, I think both Pastor Cliff and his wife, as well as Rob and I, were somewhat self-protecting, in case we didn’t get along.
Also, I don’t think they’re big entertainers. And people don’t like my table, because it’s bar-height. They have to literally climb into the chairs. haha

you have a lot of blessings to count, and we, your readers, count it a blessing that you tell your story so well.
It is a blessing to pray for you and see God at work in and through you.

A great hymn says, “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done…”
Good counting!

I hate bar height tables–I’m 5′2″, but I’d gladly climb if you invite me for dinner, Jayleigh.
