Oh, it’s what you do to me…
Still pondering on the last post’s song Hey There Delilah.
We don’t really celebrate Valentine’s Day here at the Rob and Jayleigh house. Our wedding anniversary is next week, and I still don’t know what I’m going to do for Rob then. Our budget is stretched rather tight these days and while we’re certainly making ends meet, we don’t really especially have extra room for super-fun and/or expensive things.
In an effort to not be a Valentine’s Grouch, I took Rob’s hand in mine the other day and told him, “I will now make up a song, spur of the moment for your Valentine’s Present. It won’t rhyme and frankly, I won’t sing it. Here goes:”
My darling love, you are one amazing man. I love you so dearly, and 20 years of Valentine’s Days has only made my love grow stronger for you. You are a handsome man with a beautiful heart. You are loving and good. I couldn’t be more proud of you for taking care of us the way you do. I am so happy to be your wife. The end.
It was really dorky, but it make us both get a little weepy. And then we went back to watching our stupid TV show. There’s nothing good on TV these days. *sigh* But there are all kinds of good things that Our Heavenly Father gives us.

Oh guess what! I told my boss yesterday about the Foster Care Training. Remember how I was up at arms about talking with her? Well, she couldn’t have been more excited if I’d told her she was having another grandchild. I’ve worked with her nearly 10 years and I am the same age as her own kids… and I am happy to know that she’s excited for me and didn’t balk at all about my schedule changing. Yay.
Yay God!

I like the spur of the moment Valentine you made for your husband. That’s so sweet. Steak sounds good too, even though I haven’t even had breakfast yet. LOL Hope you have a great weekend.
