2028 Miles

Waiting, waiting, waiting. I have heard the good news, now just waiting until it’s time.

Today at work I became very discouraged. I don’t want to be there (at Work) anymore. It’s not bad… in fact, it’s very very good. But my heart is somwhere else, about 2,028 miles away. According to Google Maps, it would take about 30 hours to drive that distance, but thank Heaven we won’t do that.

Tonight in my email, I found this amazing devotional from Purpose Driven Life. I mean, AMAZING, dear friends. Not because I hadn’t heard it before, but because I HAD, and it was relevant to me. Even if it meant nothing to the thousands of people who receive the same newsletter, it meant EVERYTHING to me.

At the end of the PDL newsletters, there is always a “SO WHAT?” category. I love this, because it gives the devotion, and then answers the SO WHAT’s that all of us rebellious kids of God like to ask. Here was today’s:

Waiting for God is hard – God is not surprised when we’re honest about our frustrations and fears. Often God requires us to wait because he’s trying to show us the end of our faith, stretching our faith, not condemning us for the lack of it. In these moments, seek God and not the answer.

Thank you, Father God, for making me wait. (I can’t believe I just prayed that.) I trust you. I believe, please help me in my unbelief. Amen.

I love the “Waiting for God is hard”. How true that is–and how difficult it is to remember sometimes.

Thanks for your words on my blog. I had it posted for several days before you commented…I was beginning to think I had offended you! So I was so relieved when I read your comments.
