Mag Family Update

I’ve written a few times about the Mag family, whose 19-year-old son had a blood clot in his brain on the day of his graduation openhouse last May, and who’s been completely paralyzed since. His family is completely amazing.

Rob and I traded our double bed with them for a set of bunk beds for when we have foster kiddos who need them (when/if). We went to their home and there is no end of the peace we felt upon walking over their threshold. The Lord is in that place, I am telling you.

The daughter wrote today’s update and I want to share it. PRAISE GOD!

 Last night during Micah’s massage he squeezed both my mom and the massage therapist hand! Today he was going to have eye therapy and occupational therapy. With each step forward we are encouraged by Micah’s progress.

Last Sunday our pastor spoke on walls. These walls appear in our life sometimes by our own decisions or stubborness, and other times just because of life circumstances beyond our control. He reminded us that God helps us deal with these walls in different ways. Sometimes He shows us a way around or over the walls, sometimes He blows a hole right through the wall and sometimes He just gives us wings so that we can fly over them. Somedays we feel like the walls are closing in, but then we are reminded of the Wings and we have hope again. Isaiah 40: 31 “But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.”

MORNING HYMN
Does Jesus care when my heart is pained
Too deeply for mirth and song,
As the burdens press, and the cares distress,
And the day grows weary and long?
O yes, He cares; I know He cares,
His heart is touched with my grief;
When the days are weary, the long nights dreary,
I know my Saviour cares.

Every time I am tempted to freak out or bemoan my set of blessings/burdens, I remember the Mag family and their amazing strength and hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.

Praise be to God.
