Jay’s Boys
Of course you knew I’d do it… I signed up for “Little Men” and “Jo’s Boys” on DailyLit.
Last night was our final Foster Parent Training Class. It was quite a dullĀ training, in all, but we’re glad to have gotten through it and we’re nearly done with paperwork. The only thing left to do is set up our little house…
We decided long ago to ask for kids 0-12 years old. Neither of us wanted to deal with kids Mindy’s ageĀ because, well, they’re snotty and we are so tired of having to deal with the possibility of them being high or drunk or smoking. It’s just not cool. But this week, both Rob and I have had the ol’ spur-in-the-side, which is the Lord laying it on our hearts to accept teenagers.
“You’ll be doubly blessed,” He told me at work today. I was having an OK day, just stressing about the home visit and the rest of the paperwork. And having to put the room together. And possibly moving my piano into my room because it’s the only one big enough to accommodate the piano besides the living room… and we only have seating for 4 people there if you’re being generous.
And so I’m envisioning myself as Mother Bhaer, with 12 boys in my house. Argh!
What a blessed thought!

Yes, the rearranging of the house! What a fun thing to do.
So, how many are you going to be licensed for? 2…12??!!
You will be blessed…beyond measure!

I am so excited for you guys! And you’re totally right. When God wants to bless someone, He makes sure he does a good job of it!!! He will not give you anything more than you can handle. He promises that.
We just had our initial visit with the social worker this morning. We’re getting things going! I have moments of excitement, and then moments of “What are we THINKING??!”
God bless

One of the Foster Families we know took in pregnant teens. It was such a powerful time for them. You know if God is calling you to it, He will bless it.
All the Best!!!

You and Rob are amazing people. God will continue to reward and to bless you.
You’re up to the teenage bit–not many are.
My best to you always–
